The creations of visual artist Levente Albert raise ontological questions: what is it that we really see? Is it a collage, a painting, a print, or something beyond? The artist’s rich, material-specific language leaves the viewer uncertain: the oxidised imprint of rust, the fragmentation of photograms, the textural diversity of crumpled paper and cardboard all suggest that we are talking about the fusion of different materials, and thus the creation of a new kind of existential unity. The different materials and forms are ultimately brought together in a cohesive whole, where associations flow freely between the planes of reality and imagination.

This particular visual world inspired the idea of the exhibition opening at the 10th pulzArt: an attempt to transfer visual forms into the sonic sphere, and at the same time, to create a new artistic experience. It is not only a technical experiment, but also a fundamental question: how does the dialogue between visual representation and auditory reality unfold? Is it possible to reproduce the aesthetic experience of the original work through sound, or is a radically new, autonomous narrative being created?

In the sonification process, the approach offered by Evgeny Murzin’s 1958 invention, the ANS synthesizer, will be used. The instrument, named after Alexander Nikolayevich Scriabin, exists in only one copy – now in the Glinka Museum of Musical Culture – but digital technologies make it possible to revive its spirit. At the intersection of light and sound, a new synesthetic experience will be created, taking the reception of art to a whole new level and allowing us to engage with the works on a more profound level.
