FöldSzint: Sound Workshop
As part of the 9th PulzArt, FöldSzint (GroundFloor) invites you to an unconventional workshop, held by a handful of independent, proactive individuals. The Sound Workshop features events reminiscent of a radio programme, such as interviews between adults and children recorded with microphones. Meanwhile, in the background, participants can play and experiment with digital and analogue sound-producing tools (instruments like recorders, drums, guitars, etc.) under the guidance of the workshop supervisors. Using a pedal, participants record sounds that are then looped. Other sounds produced by various instruments are layered on top of the base recording, resulting in an exciting piece of art by the end of the activity.
The first session will take place on the 16th of September, Saturday, between 17:00 and 20:00 o’clock by the lake in the Elisabeth Park. The second workshop will be held indoors, in the upstairs hall of Lábasház/Casa cu Arcade, on the 17th of September, Sunday, from 11:00 to 14:00. The workshop is recommended for participants aged eight and above, and both children and adults can join in at any time. Admission is free, and a maximum of 10 people can participate in the impromptu performance every hour.
FöldSzint is a multidisciplinary art space on the ground floor and later on the third floor of the Sugás department store, where exhibitions, concerts, readings, performances, public orchestra rehearsals, drawing classes, literary evenings, and discussions take place between customers, passersby, and vendors. According to the group of artists and actors behind the initiative, the cultural scene of Saint George was gravely missing a club activity as such, which is why they envisioned FöldSzint as a space for creative expression.
