Levente Benedek is a visual artist, who has been the graphic designer of the Csiky Gergely Hungarian State Theatre and the Euroregional Theatre Festival Timișoara (TESZT) for ten years.

He has been collecting posters, flyers, bracelets, stickers, photos, theatre and concert tickets for fifteen years. All the printed memories that came his way and that he had some kind of connection with. He’s been using them to make collages for the past year and a half.

His exhibition entitled COLL[AGE] is an imprint of personal memory processing. The practice of collecting, sorting, rearranging, assembling and framing can’t be finished, only interrupted. According to a study, our nervous system’s different networks do not store ready-made memories, but fragments and pieces of information, the memory being created only during evocation. Consequently, our memories are not real at all, yet we evoke them again and again.

Exhibition opening: IX. 19. ► 17:00 ► Tamási Áron Theatre // hall
