The stage comes alive with an electrifying fusion of genres as the spotlight falls on Solymosi Vilmos, aka DJ Bootsie, a prominent figure in Hungary’s underground hip-hop scene. The artist’s journey goes far beyond the conventional, as DJ Bootsie adopts an entirely different style when performing with the DJ Bootsie Quartet, weaving together his sonic medleys with live instrumental accompaniment.

The composer’s creations are defined by elements of hip-hop, bass rhythms, electronics, scratching, as well as film and folk music, while also incorporating elements of classical music and jazz.

He has composed music for theatre and film (his music has been featured on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation); his second album was released by the renowned English label BBE, he has produced adaptations for two sections of Ferenc Erkel’s opera Hunyadi László, and has reworked excerpts from Wagner’s Twilight of the Gods and The Rhinegold, commissioned by the Hungarian State Opera.

He has collaborated on the albums of numerous renowned Hungarian bands (including Quimby, Up, and Sugarloaf). He was also a member of the team that created Yonderboi’s globally successful debut album. He has played at festivals and clubs in Europe, Asia, and the United States both as a DJ and a member of different ensembles.

His latest album, titled Allegro Identity, was released in February 2020. He launched this album in the spring of 2019 at Müpa Budapest, as his third orchestra concert.
